About
Byron is a Partner with Torry Lewis Abells LLP. He joined the firm as an articling student in 2013 and has been an active member of the Law Society of Alberta since that time. Byron has developed a broad practice, advising clients in practice areas including agribusiness, banking and finance, business law, commercial and residential real estate, employment law and estate planning and estate administration.
Byron received his Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary in 2013 and was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2014 after completing his articles with the firm. Prior to law school, Byron received his Bachelors of Arts in History with Honours from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he played NCAA Division 1 Baseball. During his time as a student-athlete at UALR, Byron was named to the Chancellor’s List, Dean’s List, and Sunbelt Conference Commissioner’s List recognizing his academic achievement.
Currently, Byron is a Director on the Boards of the Alberta Baseball Association (“Baseball Alberta”) and the Alberta Amateur Baseball Counsel (“AABC”) and is a former Director with the Lethbridge Bar Association where he remains a member. Byron is also a graduate of the Canadian Cattleman’s Association for Young Leaders Program (2015) where he mentored under the Executive Vice President of the Canadian Cattleman’s Association.
Away from the office Byron enjoys spending time with family, golfing, and hiking as well as volunteering with Lethbridge and Area Search and Rescue (“LASARA”).
